G1W-C - battery icon on the screen?

I just got G1W-C from FoxOffer. This supposed to be the capacitor version of the popular G1W dash cam. If that's so, why I have a blinking battery icon on the display? Manual states that this icon appears when the battery is charging (for the 2-3 hours or so). Capacitors do not take that long to charge.

Did they send me a wrong dash cam or the firmware is not updated to reflect the capacitor replacing the battery?

Any ideas?
 
I'd say they just never updated the icon, if it were the battery version you could power it up and it would run for about 10 minutes, capacitor version probably 30 seconds tops

You are probably right that it is an old firmware. The camera runs for only 2-3 seconds after the power is cut.

The flashing battery icon is annoying though.
