G1W-C UK? (Amazon)

Morning all,

I am soon to purchase a G1W as I think for the price it best suits my needs, but ideally want a G1W-C as it seems a better unit for me (I live in UK, so although climate isn't a concern, I would prefer the capacitor for the 4 weeks of summer we have, plus the ability to use it in parking mode too)

Problem is, I have amazon vouchers that I would like to use to buy the unit, but for the life of me cant find it on Amazon UK. Does anyone know if it exists, and if not, is there another Amazon country that will ship free / cheap to the UK.

If all else fails, I think I will have to go for the normal battery unit.

Any help would be much appreciated.

having capacitors instead of a battery is certainly better, these don't do parking mode though, they have a motion detect option but not the same thing

What's the difference?

After reading on here (only posted once, but been a long time reader) the current draw for a G1W is low (as with most camera's) and wouldn't drain the battery when parked at a shopping centre etc so would like to wire a switch to override the 'ignition on' feature, but first need to find the camera!!
 
if you just leave it recording constantly is no problem, if you want to use the motion detect function you'll find it to be a bit hit and miss
 
Is that because of the capacitor vs battery, or is it just because of the camera characteristics and will happen regardless?

Just want cover for parking at shopping centre etc,...the car is secure at night (usually) anyway

Ive read that I cant just buy a G1W and swap the battery to a capacitor so will have to purchase one with it included.
 
capacitor just means you don't have the issues with charging constantly that would be a problem for a battery, the poor motion detect is inherent to the solution, battery or capacitor it's not good for parking mode

if you want intelligent parking mode in a camera you'll start around USD $200

Failing that ill have to go with the G1W,...although find it odd that G1W-C is not available on Amazon UK!!
 
G1W-C I think was something Foxoffer arranged, they just sell from their own site, I don't follow who sells what on Amazon but perhaps someone else will know

I am not sure if Amazon.uk voucher will work on other Amazon websites. I think I saw g1w-c on Amazon US but not all US Amazon sellers post outside. Even if they post, then only via Courier service which is 30-40usd for this size packaging. Easiesy way to by directly from Foxoffer.

You can buy dashcam from oversea and spend voucher on buying memory card from Amazon.uk.
Win-win situation 😉
 
OK, well for the sake of £30, I think I'm gonna bite the bullet for the G1W as my first dash cam, and as and when I upgrade, I will then turn this into a rear facing one.

So, I have found this, sold by E-Prance (which I understand are a decent seller according to ratings on here) and wanted to confirm if it is in fact a genuine G1W:

Don't see it is battery or capacitor version.
If Battery, you can test if parking mode is working stable.


 
I think it is battery, but for £30 im gonna give it a go for my first dash cam!!

Just wanted to make sure its a genuine one,...but from the e-Prance reviews, they seem legit,...but I will be checking when I receive it.
