About to purchase the G1W, but had a couple questions. I've done some research about hardwiring and how you need to convert the power source 5v>12v etc. I also read some contradicting information regarding automatically turning on/off. From what I gathered, if you leave it plugged in (non-hardwired) into the cigarette charger, the camera will power on and off by itself without you having to manually power on/off. If it's hardwired, you need to manually turn on/off. Is this true? I've read some info saying this is not true and some saying it's true. Can anyone confirm?
If I were to leave it plugged in via cigarette lighter, can I just get an extension chargine cable and hide the wires? Assuming hardwire requires to manually power on/off.
