My wife's car had an Orange menu GS1000 and so did mine. I had mine wired into the screen in my car's dashboard using the A/V output. Well, I got a GS6000 thinking it would work better but I found that the camera will not go into record mode when you have anything plugged into A/V. HDMI simply does not work at all.
After thinking it through I decided to put the GS6000 in my wife's car and put my GS1000 back. For me the A/V output (so I can see the camera output on the dashboard screen) is too important a feature to lose.
The spare GS1000 will go in the back window of my car.
