GPS antenna extension?

Hi everyone, newbie here. Got my 9665GC and its a really nice unit. Read through a lot of posts here and have the latest firmwares on the camera and the GPS antenna.

However, I find that the antenna cable is too short. I drive an F150 which has a huge windshield and I need a way to run the GPS antenna around the glass. I dont want to install the GPS antenna on the glass because I have sensors and stuff that will interfere with it.

So, can I use a regular 3.5mm extension cable? Any ideas?

Yes, any 3.5mm stereo audio extension cable will suit.

the cable should be shielded as well shouldn't it?

better if it is, depends a bit on how long the extension is also, we've only tested the extension up to 3m which realistically is way longer than should ever be needed
