Hi all,

I have noticed this morning a weird position of my A139 Pro on the windshield. It looks like it was not fully attached to the mount anymore, and that was correct.
The car was parked in direct sunlight and we had in some high temperatures as well (I am living in the Netherlands). When I was looking back at the parking video's it lost its GPS signal already a couple of days before.
The mount itself costs nearly 30 euro's including shipping.

You can safe that money by removing the camera from the mount if you expect some higher temperatures. The four mounting brackets were bend by the temperature and that lost the connectivity as well to the GPS unit inside the mount.
The 3M tape is strong and not easily to remove from the windshield. You need a hairdryer (low blow and low temperature) and you can remove the remains with alcohol.

Just to be warned, be careful with the mount. The camera itself is not bend and it is still in perfect working condition.

Can you share a photo of the mount? I do not remember reading about any other Viofo mount bending like this in sunlight.

I had to break it, both from the camera and from the windshield, but you can still see the melted hooks on the mount on the left side of the picture.
The right one is the new one, which I received today.

The casing of the Viofo A139 3CH is honestly very poor. It started crumbling after only about two years of use, and not just at the mounting bracket—the plastic has become brittle and broken in multiple places.
I live in Vietnam, where we only have about three very hot summer months each year. Even then, I don't regularly leave my car parked under direct sunlight. I typically drive only 100–200 km per week, and the vehicle is stored in an underground garage most of the time.
I simply can't understand how the plastic could deteriorate this badly under these conditions.

Thanks for sharing - it must have become very hot to deform like that.

Hi thanks, we had a hot couple of days, over 37 degrees of Celsius and my car was parked in direct sunlight.
I was abroad for a couple of days and had no change to relocate my car.

And @ByPro
My camera (A139 Pro, dual channel) is still intact and working properly.
