GPS tagging via the phone app?

Hi everyone,
i recently got the camera i would like the create videos with gps information, speed, etc, using virb edit.
so far i been struggling to sync the gpx file to the video.
can i use the app on my phone to add GPS info the the video?

can someone recommend an app for GPX data?
i use strava, but it's very hard to sync, due to the auto pause feature (i can switch it off, but i prefer to leave it on)
