I recently got a GS1000. I'm trying to decide which resolution setting to use.

1080 gives more resolution but a narrower field of view. 720 gives a wider field of view but less resolution.

I've tried both settings but I can't decide if wider field of view or higher resolution is more useful.

Anyone have any advice on what's more real-world useful?

Hi olbob,

There are pros and cons of each setting. The 1080p is better for capturing license plates while the 720p can see more of what is going on. I personally prefer the 1080p mode. I think it captures enough of what is going on in front of the car and provides decent resolution. Perhaps others can provide there opinions on this as well.

That's very true. Once i recorded a little bump in front of me very clearly, but after i watched this "evidence" i could not see the licence plate of guilty car. That's the reason why i prefer 1080 setting today.
