GS8000L shuts off after 3 minutes

I don't have an L but i do have a GS8000.
The Chip is different, but i will try to be as helpful as i can.
Does the camera freeze or power down?
The Non L models have heat issues. My unit would get hot and freeze up after a few mins and become non responsive until i reset it with a paper clip at the top. When the camera turns off can you turn it back on without resetting?
Is it possible you bumped the plug or your cars outlet is loose? I can't remember with the GS, but with my DVR-027 if the plug is removed or bumped loose the camera powers down even if it is charged.
How long have you set your clip size? try using the 1 min setting if the GS has it and see what happens. Some cameras have 3 min settings i believe. Maybe there is a problem with the memory card you are using. Non L models also have internal storage for clips. If the Ls have this try recording without the card in and see if you have issues.
