STILL I've not gotten round to hardwiring my VIOFO yet. It's been on the job list forever and a day now.

I also have another thing I'd like to get done after doing a 300+ mile round trip recently & that's hardwiring in a wireless charging phone car mount so that not only is the 12v female socket available but I just don't have wires trailing everywhere.

Oh and to add issue - there's the Mio Mivue 618 dashcam I have (currently up front) that since I have it I may as well chuck it in the rear & have a rear cam (though this would be without parking mode).

Just wondering about the best way of going about this if anyone could offer some feedback? Thanks.

Also regards the install itself in terms of connection.....

I was thinking of (certainly for the wireless car mount and perhaps the Mio Mivue cam too) hardwiring one of these 12v females in...

And using the power cable that comes with the device itself. The only reason I thought of doing it that way is when I got the Mio installed years ago by a car audio shop, that's the approach they took.

However someone advised me not to do that & instead I should use something like so...

Feedback welcome.
