I have a Focus Vignale with a heated front screen, but having problems getting my NextBase 622GW dashcam to connect to the satellite. It won’t connect to the satellite in order to give GPS information (speed, position, what3words). Had no problems with previous NextBase 522GW dashcam, just 622GW giving problems. I note that the 522 uses different firmware to the 622. NextBase diagnosed a faulty GPS module, and sent me a free replacement but to no avail. Same issue. The 622GW seems to connect ok in my wife’s Suzuki (no heated screen). Has anyone else had similar problems and more importantly has anyone managed to find a solution? Thanks in anticipation.

Did you place the new unit in exactly the same spot as the old working unit?

Having the heated screen may affect where the camera gps is placed.

There may be an area that is near the rear vision mirror that doesn't have the heating elements. Try that area of the windscreen.

I used exactly the same mount in my vehicle for the 622 as the 522. The 522 picks up the satellite ok but the 622 doesn’t. It is just the 622 that fails. Both the 622 and the 522 pick up the satellite in my wife’s Suzuki using the same mount.

Ok.

Others may be able to help you.

Yes most wind screens like this will have a not covered area for toll transponders ASO.
But this might be in a not at all usable place ( one of the lower corners ) but if so not good when you have a dashcam with GPS on mount system, here the GPS antenna on a wire will be much better as you can then place the antenna where it should work.

Also be advised, even if you have no speed reading, your exact speed cam always be ascertained from the video footage itself as a factor of the time you are in covering a distance between 2 things you can go measure.
No court will accept the readings of a consumer GPS anyway.
