Hi so basically my dash cam wouldn’t charge so I took it apart and found that when plugged in thjs resistor would heat up very quickly. As you can see it is blown but I don’t know what type it is as you can see it has burnt the writing off. I was hoping anyone with ex expertise in electrical or known dash cam circuits knows what I have to replace it with

Hello Yusufmoosa,
Sorry to say, but the item at the top right is not a resistor, but a small regulation CHIP.
There's a group of very small resistors adjacent to the INPUT socket & the "OUTPUT" chip. Outlined in white.

The very small "orange/tan" item directly beneath the burned out chip is a CAPACITOR & appears to be O.K.

I'm afraid that you'll require a new dashcam....unless you can obtain a replacement POWER PCB from the manufacturer.
(Which is doubtful.)

Good luck..

PTN: There's no need to double post your problem as it gets rather confusing. Thank you.

Hi sorry to reply again. I’m not that familiar with electronics. I assume the regulation chip is to control the voltage. Could I find it online and solder it back on or are they difficult to identify

Thanks

Hi again,
Well, without knowing the chips designated part number or any details as to exactly what it's function/duty is......I'd say you don't have much of a chance at

finding the correct, ie: the same chip.

Best to inquire at the dashcam's site as to the availability of spare PCB's & not just the parts.
