Sorry if this sounds naive but I have had my dashcam for many years without problems but have just had to put a new card in it. All seems to be fine but it has failed to restart a couple of times after an engine stop. OK that is probably a bad connection somewhere which I can seek out. But, the screen on the back which is my only method of seeing if it is working or not goes blank after a few minutes and, as I can't always see if the red 'rec' light is on against a bright sky I am not alerted to the fact that the connection has dropped.
My memory is that this screen was always on before the card change, am I right? And if I am, how can I get it to revert to that status?
