I tend not to use my car regularly. I can drive two hundred miles in a day and then not use it for 3 or 4 days.
When left for a few days I've noticed that the date & time is lost. I thought there would be a battery in the unit just to keep the time. Is this the case?
The Supplier suggested I install the hardware kit but I'm a little concerned that the only way to preserve the time would be to have the unit powered continuously, which I'm not keen to do.
Has anyone experienced this?

Thx.

This cam uses a super capacitor which will keep date/time for a couple of days.

Yes it does. Maybe it's just something they will fix in the "next" batch.;)

if it has an RTC battery it should keep time and date info for at least a month, if it's losing the settings in a matter of days it's likely the cell is faulty

Wouldn't be surprised. There is very little on this model that works correctly.
