Mounting the CPL is easy. But you need to align it based on your car. Here is a step by step manual:
Clean the Lens: Use the included microfiber cloth to thoroughly clean the main dash cam lens of any dust, fingerprints, or smudges before installation.
Attach the Filter: Remove both protective films from the CPL. Gently align the threads of the CPL filter with the threads around the dash cam lens housing. Turn the filter clockwise until it is securely attached. Do not overtighten it, as the outer ring needs to rotate freely for adjustment.
Power On and Position: Mount your dash cam in your vehicle and power it on to see the live view on the LCD screen or through the Vantrue mobile app.
Adjust the Polarization: While observing the live footage, slowly rotate the outer ring of the CPL filter.
You will notice reflections from the dashboard or windshield glass change or disappear as you turn the filter.
Rotate the filter until you achieve the desired effect. Usually when the glare is minimized and colors (like the sky or road surface) appear more saturated and clear.
Tip: Placing a white piece of paper on your dashboard can provide a clear reflection point to help you see the effect of the polarization as you rotate the filter.
Final Check: Once satisfied with the image clarity and reduced reflections, the CPL filter is ready for use.
