I just purchased a new 0801 and love it. I have a couple of questions;

1. If I want to record GPS should the GPS option be set to "Open" or "Closed"?

2. Just downloaded the popular free Registrator Viewer (www.registratorviewer.com/index_en.html) PC program to view the 0801 video but it doesn't track on the map. I see the GPS files on the card. Can someone tell me how to setup the program to track along Google Maps?

3. Do you have to take out the SD card and put it in your PC to view the video or can you simply connect the 0801 directly into the PC without removing the SD card?

4. Is the 0803 really worth getting over the 0801?

2 won't see anything if you didn't have it set to open
3 taking the card out is quicker, they make poor card readers
4 a bit better night night performance, not a great deal of difference though

2. Then it looks like somethings wrong. The option was set to OPEN and I still don't get the GPS coordinates to follwo the video. The files are on the card.

open the GPS file in notepad, see if you have GPS co-ordinates listed or now, post the contents here if you're not sure what to look for, there's no settings as such in the program, as long as the PC has internet access it will pull the maps down to display

it is a real 0801?

I'm using my MacBook Pro now with DashCam Viewer loaded and it doesn't show the GPS either. What program in OSX Mavericks do you want me to try and open a GPS file?

Yes, it's a real 0801.
 
GPS is just a text file, whatever the equivalent of notepad is in Mac

You sure you have the GPS mount?
