Is Fleeta to BlackVue going the way of the McDonnell Douglas to Boeing merger acquisition ?

Will BlackVue lose their identity with the dashcam part of things and become secondary to the fleet business ?

hm, it is weird to see them doing away with their own branding. It's odd now to get "Fleeta" notifications on my phone with a totally different name and logo. I can understand that maybe fleet services might be more profitable than retail sales, especially if fleets care less about all out video quality like many of us do, but yeah, good question on if they'll lose their identity with this move somewhat.

It probably has some barking owner or CEO yapping orders and they just did it.

Yeah I can see where their fleet service becomes priority. Heavy write ups becomes just another business expense for potential customers allowing Pittasoft to maximize profits. Meanwhile still raking in money from niche or walk-in customers that basic needs are met and don't research before they buy.

On the hand I can see them boomerang back to dashcam sector with new found wealth and and put more attention into their product line , bring better 4k/2K multi cam box setups.

Who owns whom? If Pittasoft owns Fleeta, I do not see how this degrades the Pittasoft or BlackVue branding. If anything, I would think it would provide a better range of future capabilities to the BlackVue product line.

Well that's why I put the comparison within the title. When Boeing acquired McDonnell Douglas , their quality went to crap. With Boeing being the purchasing company, MD executives are running the show and it turned to profit over quality . Similar can probably be said for Pittasoft.

Indeed. Boeing was an engineered driven and essentially engineer managed company. They put pride and product quality before profits...and still made money. MD had cutthroat, bottom line management and financed Spirit for fuselages, etc. and outsourced a lot of other items. QC went to crap. MD is the cause of all of the Boeing problems. My last flight into Dallas, TX in February was selected based on the plane being an Airbus A321, I intentionally stay away from any Boeing product.

As for Fleeta, they are owned by Pittasoft as I am told, I do have an email to them to verify that. With Pittasoft being the owner, I do not expect the BlackVue product line to suffer anymore now, than it has in the past.

PittaSoft / Blackvue responded back to me in regards to ownership of Fleeta and if Pittasoft owns Fleeta. I will quote the reply...

It's still owned by BlackVue Pittasoft, and we just migrated our webhost for the cloud website which is now the https://fleeta.io/

So, I would not think there to be any drop in quality or focus on the BlackVue brand.
