They have always been sister companies, they have the same owners, are still owned by their original owners, and have always shared facilities such as the shop and support.

We haven't had any new Gitup cameras for a while, but the current ones will probably stay available for ages yet, and support will continue since Viofo is doing very well in the dashcam market.

It would be nice to see a Sony Starvis 2 4K Gitup action camera sometime, but I suspect the priority is getting Starvis 2 dashcams, since they also share the engineering facilities. A Starvis 2 action camera would probably be good for the commercial action camera market, which I suspect is a significant proportion of Gitup sales these days.

The accessories were often made by other manufacturing companies, maybe stocks ran out and the manufacturers haven't survived the covid.
