Is my blackvue DR500GW bricked?

Having lots of issues with the camera now....

1. microSD card in with stock or custom firmware = Green LED stays on, no recording or sound
2. No microSD card inserted = Green LED stays on, no recording or sound

Is the camera bricked?
Would using a UART to USB to directly access the camera resolve this? http://car-dvr.info/forum/index.php?topic=801.0

just get it working, get rid of it and get a SG9665GC, you wont burn your fingers any more removing the SD card and youll have superior video quality.
