I Didn't want to hijack a previous thread, slightly dif question.

Does anyone know if there is anything more to the ITV-80 than an in-line fuse? Seems this could be done a lot cheaper than $40.

It is not a "fuse". It is a box that controls power to the dash cam.

It has 3 wires: 1 to ground, 1 to constant power (to run dash cam and the monitoring circuits), 1 to aux power (something that loses power when vehicle is turned off). The aux power connection is just to let the box know when you've shut down your vehicle. The other end of the box has a female power port that the dash cam's power cord plugs into.

Whenever the voltage gets below a set value, or a specified amount of time has passed since vehicle shutdown, the box will disconnect power from the dash cam. This will prevent the dash cam from draining your vehicle's battery.

I hope this answers your question?

Hi fin reaper,

It has 2 components. Low voltage cut-off (not a fuse). When voltage hits below a certain level it shuts off power to the camera. The other component is the timer. I'm always on the lookout for something cheaper but haven't found anything with appropriate voltage cut-off setting.
