Hi everyone,

I’m currently using a DDPAI Z90 Master with the RC5 rear camera, and overall I am very impressed with the image quality. The video quality, especially compared with my previous dashcam, is excellent.

However, I’m finding a few things about the Z90 Master that are making me consider going back to my previous REDTIGER F7NP.

With the Z90 Master, I have noticed:

  • The front and rear cameras do not start recording at the same time after the initial power-on. The RC5 starts approximately 5–6 seconds later, so the first recordings are permanently out of sync. Interestingly, if I stop and restart recording, both cameras become synchronized.
  • The video recording duration seems to be limited to 1-minute files, and I haven’t found an option to select a different recording length.
  • The Z90 Master uses its internal eMMC storage first, rather than recording directly to the microSD card. According to DDPAI, this is part of their D²Save system. In my case, however, the camera keeps deleting older files from the internal storage and continues recording there while the microSD card remains empty, so I am currently trying to understand whether this is expected behavior.

These things are not necessarily deal-breakers individually, but together they make the Z90 Master less convenient to use than I expected.

On the other hand, I really like the Z90 Master because of its much better image quality and integrated installation.

My previous REDTIGER F7NP did not have these synchronization/storage issues. It recorded directly to the microSD card and the front/rear recordings were synchronized. However, the F7NP has its own disadvantages for me:

  • The image quality is noticeably worse than the Z90 Master.
  • The mounting solution is suction-cup based, which I don’t like as much as the integrated installation of the Z90 Master.

So I’m basically looking for a dashcam that combines the best aspects of both:

DDPAI Z90 Master

  • Excellent image quality
  • Better/integrated mounting solution

REDTIGER F7NP

  • Properly synchronized front/rear recording from startup
  • Direct microSD recording
  • More flexible recording file duration

Is there a dashcam that combines all of these features?

Ideally, I’m looking for a high-end dual-channel dashcam with:

  • Excellent front and rear image quality
  • Proper front/rear synchronization from the moment the camera powers on
  • Direct microSD recording
  • Selectable recording duration (1/3/5 minutes, etc.)
  • A clean, preferably adhesive/integrated mounting solution rather than a suction cup

I’d be interested to hear what other Z90 Master or F7NP owners think, and whether there is another model I should consider.

Thanks.
