Loss and Recovery of Protected Files? 512GW

Hi, yesterday I downloaded the protected files from my dashcam, however the one I was looking for had already been overwritten despite being protected! I have a file extraction program I used for old DVD's and it managed to recover and extract all the files, including the one I wanted. These seem to have been saved correctly as the HI files are showing as 725MB in size but I can't get them to actually run in any program, eg VCL etc they just won't open?

Any ideas? I would really like to get this particular file recovered, and I'm surprised that it was overwritten in the first place despite being protected!
