Make the attachment before turning the camera ON, using either the AV Out or HDMI cable (but NOT BOTH at the same time).

◣Micro SD card

◣Turning ON/OFF

Press the power button once to power on , blue light indicator is ON;

Press the power button again to power off, blue light indicator is OFF.

Attention: Low battery is displayed before shutting down.

◣Charging Batteries

There 3 ways of charging the battery,

Red light indicator is on while charging; full charge time is 180 minutes.)

Red light indicator is off when fully charged (not true on my camera, it's always ON along with blue light, bug?)

1. Using an AC adaptor and the supplied USB cable

2. Using a PC and the supplied USB cable

3. Using the supplied 12V In-car power cable

==========================================================================

◣Initially:

1) Insert a micro SDHC card

2) Connect a power source and, if necessary, turn the camera ON

3) Select the “System Settings” menu (see instructions below) and at a minimum: set the Date & Time, the Language, the TV Mode, the Frequency and Format a new card,

====================================================================

Modes: 1) Video, 2) Stills (photos), 3) Playback(see icons in top left corner)

Switching between modes must be done when not recording, press REC if necessary to stop video recording (does not apply to Photo mode)

Press MODE to switch modes Video > Stills > Playback > Video......etc.

Settings Menus:

Press MENU once to display the Menu for the Current Mode

Press MENU twice (in any mode) to select the System Settings menu before pressing either the Up or Down keys on the Current Mode Menu

====================================================================

System Settings menu:

The 11 types are:

Date/Time: Set the date & time: Press Up/Down to change a value then press REC to move to the next field and finally to the Menu

AutoPower OFF: Off, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes

Version: see firmware version

When done, Press the MENU key to return to the normal, non-Menu screen

Notes:

1) set the LED OFF to prevent reflection in the windshield, may be useful if hand held for photos, watch battery level unless an auxillary battery pack is used.

2) Auto Power Off seems to ignore the setting and occur in about ~30 seconds.

3) Formatting every few weeks may make sense to delete empty folders left behind by looping and locked files no longer needed.

WDROff/On

Exposure +2/3, +1/3, +0.0, -1/3, -2/3

Motion DetectionOff/On

Record AudioOff/On

GsensorOff(only manual locking), high(will only lock if severe shock), medium, low(will lock many files)

Date StampOff/On

When done, Press the MENU key to return to the normal, non-Menu screen

Notes:

1) Setting the Gsensor to LOW may make sense when using Motion Detection and the vehicle is parked.

2) Motion detection doesn't provide much protection in the sense that a thief may never be in the cameras view if approaching from the rear, etc.

3) Loop recording: Playback of a file cannot be 'cancelled' once started, the file must be played to it's 'end'. Playback speed up to 8x is useful to skip quickly to the end but it takes about 15 seconds to skip through a 3 minute file and could therefore take about 45 seconds to skip through a 10 minute file. On the other hand, there are fewer 10 minute files to check for the content that you're looking for...

4) Exposure settings may provide better quality if in a constant and especially dark or bright ambient light environment but 0.00 plus WDR=ON is a good all around choice.

5) Recording audio is handy if you need to record a licence plate that may not be captured clearly by the camera. (Don't use if you have your mistress or misteress in the car and your wife/husband likes to check your videos.)

Arguably the most important piece of advice given on this board :D
