Microphone sensitivity

Hi,

is there a known way to reduce the microphone sensitivity? I use my Yi to capture our own concerts and the sound gets very distorted. On GoPro3 you can change from Hi to Lo, so i hope it could be programmed in future firmware and App. Also, are there some MicroUSB Pins for attaching external microphone?

That is not due to the sensitivity, that is the microphone itself being overdriven. It uses cheap single-stage mic that cannot handle too loud volume. Easiest fix - tape over the mic hole. BTW... why don't you record the audio directly from mixing pult and use better microphones for "noise" capturing (crowd ambient etc)?

I also own a Tascam recorder and just hoped, not have to use both devices

Not sure where the microphone is located, have you tried maybe putting some tape over it?

its the tiny hole on the top/bottom (not sure)

OK, didn't notice you had already answered the 'tape' solution. ^^^
