I am looking to buy my first "dash"camera, with a maximum budget of £80. This is what I would like from the camera,

-Best possible image quality, both day and night, within my £80 budget
-As discreet (small) as possible
-Preferably a screen so that I can see I have the camera pointing in the correct position.
-Ability to hard wire it (I guess this can be done with all cameras)
-Available to buy locally or from reputable company
-Reliable camera, or at worse easy returns policy (ties in with local/reputable company)

For my budget the Mini 0800's seem to be best for me. But reliability seems too poor.

I am leaning towards Mobius, but would prefer something with a screen and I've read Mobius isn't as good as Minis in the dark.
My other option I'm considering is the G1w. It's larger than I want and probably not very good image quality, but if I buy budget and I'm not happy with it, it's better than spending twice as much and still not being happy with it. After all, I'll be using the camera to capture any potential accident, which the G1w should cope with. I'm not making an HD movie and if I don't have an accident nobody (including myself) is likely to see any footage from any of these cameras.

Welcome to DCT. I have Mobius & Mini 0805 & consider them to be about as good as each other at night. The Mobius C2 is the version to get for low light performance.

I have two DashCams with screens, & don't find it's absence in the Mobius to be a disadvantage. Aim it by eye, check the video, then readjust the aim a little if necessary.
