Missing file but lock file is there

So I have been using Git2 as a dash cam for years. I usually format the card once in a while however earlier this morning, a piece of metal flew up and hit my car. I immediately used the short cut button to 'lock' the file. When i stopped and looked at the file, there was nothing in there. The previous video was way back in February. I keep cycling through the videos in the cam and it suddenly showed "no file'. I pulled out the card and stopped it and went home to check the SD card. None of the videos is taken today however; there is a lock file that shows the incident. Why would the camera have this file if it is not recording?!? I wanted to check previous footage to look at the car's license plate because the lock file isn't very clear.

Any tips?
