Mounting A119 V3 on the mirror "leg"

Hi. Do you know of a way to connect the Viofo A119 v3 to the mirror "leg" instead of the glass? I got an answer from Viofo that you can replace the adhesive with a suction cup but that's not waht I'm looking for.
I did it with other cameras but this one is a bit different in its form.

I would try bike handlebar mount for cell phone. Here is one of those:

Make your own - get a mirror mount (e.g. this) and a mounting plate (e.g. this). Key thing is to make sure the mirror mount and mounting plate both use the same diameter ball; balls for these kinds of mounts are usually 17mm or 25mm.

I've had similar setups on all my cams for nearly a decade now, none of them have failed yet.
