Came across this music video recently and have strong suspicion that it was shot using a dashcam.

I've been digging through reviews and footage of various models, especially older 70mai ones because of the blown out, low dynamic range type look, but still can't seem to find a good match. Here's what I've been able to identify about the camera from the music video:

  • It seems to have very low dynamic range since almost every shot has some amount of blown out highlights, especially in the sky. Even clothes have blown out highlights sometimes.
  • It's able to keep object in focus even when they're super close (probably smaller size aperture / higher aperture number) I have a Viofo 119 V3 and it definitely can't pull off a close up shot of someone's face without them getting blurry.
  • It's pretty decent in low light. (maybe a starvis sensor?)
  • The footage seems to be squeezed horizontally, so I'm guessing the camera actually shoots with a 16:9 aspect ratio and then the footage got squeezed into a 4:3 aspect ratio in the edit. It's also possible that the camera is similar to my viofo 119 where the 2880x2160p mode (which suggests 4:3 aspect ratio) actually has a 1.33x pixel ratio so it comes out as 3840x2160 16:9 video.
So far my best guess has been something like a 70mai A500S based on this comparison video, you can see that the 500S keeps objects that are close to the camera much sharper than the A510, especially if you look at the box at the bottom of the shot.

If anyone recognizes the look of this camera or has any idea of what models give a similar image, I would really appreciate the advice!
