My 1-year old BBMyCar Powercell 8 is dead

You didn't read what I wrote correctly. Apparently the warranty company, CPS is located in the USA and I live in Canada. The warranty will be almost worhless or at least expensive if I have to pay for shipping to CPS in the USA. May not even be able to as some courier companies do not ship high capacity Lithium or Lipo4 batteries across the border.

I am not sure how long this Gian has worked at BBMC but he sounds like he should know or should have known.
Have you contacted CPS to verify if they have service centers in Canada? Why not give them a call.

Electronics do fail. It does suck you got a defective one. But Egen is a big company and they would not be so big making subpar product.

I have seen 2 defective battery packs and we have sold 100’s. But batteries fail. Same as car batteries fail…

Call CPS directly and see what they have to say.

With the current case, it is about what BBMC told me in response to questions I asked specifically about CPS and how it works. The fact the person said, wait let me check or words to that effect would give the customer the belief he would know or should know. We're no longer talking about a battery failing in 1 year. I can dispute this with my credit card company as I have the recorded conversation where someone working at BBMC was providing me with incorrect info for the pre-purchase.

PS. Comparing apples to oranges, most quality auto batteries come with a 3+ year warranty. If it fails within that period, a free replacemnet battery is provided. Auto battery manufacturers offer a long warranty because they stand behind the quality of their product and there is also competition from other manufacturers. My car battery cost only $350.

This does not look well for BBMC. Sometimes a company must take the high road and suck up the monetary loss in order to maintain their business reputation.

Going on the assumption the OP has done nothing intentional, or by accident to damage the battery pack, this pack should have lasted much longer, as noted by the above statement by SafeDriveSolutions in that he has sold hundreds of battery packs with only a few that were faulty. I would suspect then, that BBMC is experiencing the same success rate and are not going broke from replacing bad battery packs they have sold. BBMC, in my view, should have just replaced the battery pack with a free new or refurbished battery pack with a prorated warranty.

I took great care of the Powercell 8 and 2 Cellink Neo Ext batteries. All 3 are tacked down tight with velcro I purchased off Amazon and using the velcro supplied with the batteries.

Don't throw those extensions out, not sure, but they may turn out to be compatible with something before long:

Is the Extension battery in your photo is a Viofo Extension battery?

Depending where you are. in Ontario we would be happy to try and help you out. I believe my Toronto manager has a Blackvue power connector which is the same connector. happy to help someone out if we can. It is not a product we sell but we just like to help the industry out if we can.

Cheers
Thanks for the offer. For now I am OK. But thanks again.

It's not my photo, but I'm pretty certain that it is a Viofo Extension Battery. @Panzer Platform can probably confirm.

Not sure when these will be available, Viofo wont release them until they are happy with reliability, and with batteries that needs a bit of testing time, they are clearly on the way though.
