With Wendy back, everything seems to be falling into place once again. I've not decided on the install route yet. I need to see how complicated it is to route the wires through the firewall on my vehicle. As I am not sure the long term permanency of this camera. I'll be testing of course, but my installation may or may not be a "professional type". We shall see.
Reading up on accessing the firewall. And I need to remove glove box to gain entry to cabin. So researching everything now.

Looking forward to your thoughts on the P2. Iām expecting one to arrive in a few days. Running a wire through the firewall should be fun, curious to see how much disassembly is necessary for the install. š

I completely disassembled by Volvo's Glove Box, unhooked the connectors, took off the trim under the hood, and came to the realization it's too much of a pain in the ass given the temporary nature of this install. There's a Grommet under the hood near the BMS battery and the padding behind the dash is ungodly thick. Someone said they were able to use a coat hanger and lots of effort to get a wire through...... (forum we share)..... But I don't know. I didn't attempt that method. The wire itself snags and I figured too much effort.
Are you planning on keeping this in your car permanently? If not, I'll send you pictures of the easiest method to install without going through all that trouble. This Thermal Camera isn't going to be a system I'll run long term (given the number of cameras already in my vehicle). Thus, I'm looking at this from a testing perspective.

Far from a professional install, but I have installed the P2 Thermal Camera. I've run into a few concerns that I will share via Email:
1. The Cord from the Front Camera + Rear Camera that connects to the screen is too long if opting to tuck the cable into the dash. There needs to be another option where this cord is maybe a Meter / 3 Feet at maximum.
Note: If running the cable along the Headliner --> A-Pillar -> Floor ---> Dash then a long Cable is necessary.
2. The Screen needs a GPS Mount included. Mounting using the 3M Adhesive to the dashboard WILL NOT work for everyone, especially if there's a leather dashboard. Likely, some people may not want to adhere the screen permanently to their dash. SCREEN MOUNT IS DETACHABLE and "Unscrews".
Temporary Solution:
I have Adhesive Suction Cups from a Dog Toy with one Sided Sticky Tape....Mounted it to a Adhesive Disk already on my Dashboard:
Recommendation:
Magnetic Mount or a Strong Suction Cup Mount.

My new car have full insurance as there is still debt in it, mind you this is still interesting.
Will have to look at my 1SPM rear camera tomorrow, the mount somehow do not work as well in the new car, but i have a quick fix for that.
Also my rubber DIY dashmat, it is now slippery have glued my black fabric to it as the bare rubber did have a little reflections to it.
I would just use a couple of magnets to hold screen to heavy dashmat.

The suction honestly doesn't seem to instill confidence so I switched to an adhesive to the disc in the center. A Magnetic or Strong Suction Cup option should be taken into consideration by Vantrue @Jeff_Vantrue

Due to the backing sticking out for all the connections and size of the screen, the unit is definitely much heavier than a Galaxy Phone.

Couple things to note that've been raised to Wendy / @Jeff_Vantrue :
A. I suggested HDR timer be added to the Vantrue Software for the P2 Pilot. Only Available on the Display itself.
B. A shorter cord should be available / included alongside the longer cord from the front to Screen based upon Vantrue's install video. The Longer cord is necessary if hiding the cable alongside the floor trim and running up the center console.
C. A Magnetic / Suction Cup mount are necessary. Only offering an adhesive to mount the screen isn't ideal and will put off some potential customers that may have a leather dash or choose not to implement a permanent install.
Wendy suggested this as an option in the mean time: I have not tested.

D. Parking Mode only permits collision detection. Wendy said they were worried about voltage usage. I stated that adding Low Bitrate with a Timer would be ideal, because Collision Detection isn't the most preferred method as it's dependent upon the vehicle waking up fast enough to capture an impact.

Something to be expected. In Bright light, the Thermal Camera will Temporarily Disable to prevent damage.
