For people which want to show the original video the better is to use Vimeo instead of YouTube and the sellers should use that for their videos.

I've been looking at Vimeo also, it's actually not too expensive for a pro account, it appears to not compress as heavily as YouTube, also no ads which is a good thing, can't complain about what YouTube offers considering it's free for the taking

Nice one, looking into Pro version now. If this is worth my while, I will remove all YouTube videos and re-upload from RAW files to Vimeo.

I am not very sure, but I think you can use Vimeo with free account if uploading 1 video/week maybe. And the video quality is something like untouched.

Even selling a camera, 2 HD videos are enough: one for day and one for night. Until releasing the camera on the market is time enough to take some good video samples an upload them in 2 weeks. I saw many sellers just go with the car, record some video and quickly upload it on youtube, instead to wait for the perfect weather conditions, cleaning the windshield, remove stupid things from their dashbloard, or usins some Xenon car for night recording. But is needed too much brain for this. :lol:
If you are making money or some business by selling the videos which you are recording, not just a camera, I think is good to pay some money/month. But not to pay for uploading some video with some moron on the red light.

Rain-x "cleaner and rain repellent" spray works well on outside of windshield. Windshield been clean for ages after one wash.

I actually tried rain x for the first time a few days ago. Gave the windows a good clean and applied the original rain x.
Wanted to see how good/bad it was but not had a spec of rain since! Just my luck.

This made me chuckle! I've been using windex lately and this probably explains why I have a crazy mist and reflection on the window after 24hrs... I will get a bottle of the Rain-x cleaner and rain repellent after work.

This made me chuckle! I've been using windex lately and this probably explains why I have a crazy mist and reflection on the window after 24hrs... I will get a bottle of the Rain-x cleaner and rain repellent after work.

yeah you'll notice commercial window cleaners never use stuff like this, warm water and small amount of dishwashing soap and a squeegee will give you streak free windows (not so easy on the inside though), you'll probably find there are some more automotive centric products available at places like Repco, Bursons (not familiar with what auto parts suppliers are in your state) etc, if you get onto a detailing site you'll find plenty of esoteric suggestions http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/s ... p?t=303321 some are bordering on OCD though, http://shop.finalinspection.com.au/ if you want to buy good product online, the automotive section on Whirlpool has plenty of threads on detailing also

In rain - a good wiper works wonders too. Even in sunny weather if windscreen is dry and hazy, using the wipers with the water will effect quality if streaks etc are left.. which then dry out into those curved lines! Got the Bosch Aerotwin wipers. Best wipers yet i have used.

agree, the problem with supermarket type window cleaning products (the blue liquid type that I'm sure they sell in most countries) is with the interior windows where they develop a haze on the windows, not so much of a problem on the outside where you can use your wipers to clean off the screen, good wiper blades are a worthwhile investment, camera or not

Yes, but any intro or outro added by you on the original video will mean reencoding of the original video. For best result is just to cut (or join) the original dashcam videos without reencoding them.
