N5 - motion detection/collision detection question

Hi
I’ve just had the nexus 5 installed via hardwiring

What I wanted to know is… in the options of I turn on motion detection or collision detection and then turn my engine off will it just record as normal?

Or will it only record/save motion detection or bump etc?

So when I return to my car and turn the engine on and then open the app and look at history saved in the SD card will it only show motion detection or collisions etc?

I am abit confused as to how the parking mode works

Any info would be greatly appreciated
