I just received my E360 ACE dash cam, it has a front, cabin and rear camera. I will be running park mode 24/7. I'm concerned it will drain my cars battery.

Kelly from Vantrue told me that's the E360 ACE will use 36,000 ma's

Can anyone please recommend a "dedicated battery bank" that will accommodate 36,000 ma's.

I have searched the Internet and I cannot find a dedicated battery bank to accommodate 36,000 ma's.

Thank you in advance...

When the E360 is recording in 3-channel mode (front + cabin + rear) it runs at approximately 5 Volts at 1.1 Amps = 5.5 Watts.

1.1A = 1100mA
If you record continuously for 24 hours, that's 24h x 1100mA = 26400 mAh

A common size of USB powerbank is 10,000mAh or 20,000mAh. If you get one at 30,000mAh or above it should have enough capacity to run the E360 for 24 hours.

That's a simple, high-level look at the numbers to get an idea of what we're looking at. In reality you're going to use one of the parking modes.

If you want to record continuously, I would suggest low bitrate mode. That runs at approximately 5V x 0.75A = 3.75W. Multiply that by 24 hours and you only need 18000mAh from the battery pack.

If you want to use the collision detection parking mode with quick-start enabled, the power requirement is much lower at 5V x 0.25A = 1.25W. Now you only need 6000mAh for 24 hours. The downside is that the camera will only record if it detects an impact, and it takes 5 seconds to wake up and start recording, by which time the event that triggered the impact may be over.

Thank youTony for your response. It was very informative.

Is there a power bank that you can recommend that has about 36,000 mah?

There are many, many threads dedicated to parking batteries in the "Hardwire and Batteries" forum here at Dashcamtalk. Have a look. You don't need to match battery capacity to the Vantrue handheld stick with batteries inside of it.

In general, dashcam specific batteries cost about $300. There are also several thread about using more generic Power Stations (closer to $150) that are intended for camping. There are even several thread about building your own parking battery.

Ideally for parking mode you would use a dedicated dashcam battery (or the car battery) and a Vantrue hardwire kit.

Alternatively you can use a standard USB powerbank, but only if you also use the LT01 module. The E360 does not like working directly with a generic USB power supply.
