Occasionally not starting up

Here I am again.
My cam occasionally doesn't start up.... driving down the road and see a black screen when normally the screen saver is on
Press the button on the side , and on it comes.
I bought it in April ish
Why?
Why is it so unpredictable?
Some say because loss of power for a second or two when starting engine..but it shouldn't happen.

Having it wired to an ACC fuse can cause that.

It starts to boot, then the starter crank takes power away and it goes into shutdown mode. Then power is restored during shutdown so gets ignored.

If you can find a power source that doesn't get disconnected during cranking ..... often they are the ones that only get power with IGN position 2

Today, 2nd August....first click using key... Ignition on, 322gw comes on...5 seconds later turns off, I have to press the on button

You can test that by not cranking the starter for different pauses

I flick the unit with finger and sometimes it comes on.

Plug the unit into an indoor mobile phone charger.

If it powers up and stays running, as I suspect it will, then you have a vehicle wiring issue. Find another fuse.

In my experience, the fuses that only become live with the key in IGN pos 2 are the most reliable.
