Well, there you have it. I have purchased the Garmin 55. Awaiting delivery.
Thus far, I have not purchased the connection for the fuse box (I drive a Mustang). Let's use the device as is for now, then see how I like it, and then we will see.

Alas, it seems I need to use the fuse connection if I want the parking option.
 
Parking mode always requires it to be hardwired or connected to a power source like an external battery.

Good luck with the Garmin 55, waiting for a through review! :borg:
 
Garmin 55 is on the way, expected here before 21:00 Eastern. I did go to Best Buy to buy the Garmin cable for the fuse box.

Something tells me I need to get a micro fuse cable, too.

Don't forget to stock up on accessories. There is a suction cup mount (really nice) and a polarized lens cover. I have both!
 
Okay, the lens I agree with. As for the suction cup, I don't like seeing those on windscreens.
Do you have a link for a polarized lens cover? A guy did a video, but, he had to 'file' it down to fit and such.

Parking mode requires Garmin's proprietary cable. You can't enable it if you don't have that cable.
