Other use for the 3rd "cabin" camera?

Now that I've been using my A139 Pro for a good half year, I feel like the interior camera with IR leds is sort of useless. I don't work for a taxi service of any kind so there really wasn't a need to get that 3rd camera I guess...

So has anyone turned off the IR Leds and used the camera in a different spot, say out the sailfin (a-pillar) window? It might be useful capturing an extra angle that way. Any thoughts are appreciated!
 
A few have fitted the cabin camera with another lens, and so got a zoom perspective , meaning you can capture plates many car length in front of you.
The trade in for that is you get a terrible narrow field of view, but since your sweet spot for such a lens are way out ahead of the car i dont see it as a problem

We are working on a new featured separate camera for A139 Pro, maybe in the future people can choose this new camera instead of the interior camera.
 
I do like modularity,,,, well at least most times, it can also be done foolishly.
Maybe its my Danish LEGO genome. :)
