Hello. I've got a real problem. I bought this video camera because I thought it would take great video footage. When it's sunny and outdoors, yes, it does and I'm very happy about that but when it's indoors and the theater is flooded with fluorescent light, the dancers bodies are completely overblown. It looks like a scifi movie unfortunately.

Does anyone know if there's some way to reduce that overexposure?

Sigh.... I hope someone will have a great idea.

Thank you.

EV compensation setting. changing ISO will help too but at the cost of grain.

in low light make sure to use low FPS to allow more light into sensor.

Apologies for not writing back sooner; I'm in Thailand now and didn't check my mail regularly.

Regarding EV, what setting would you suggest for night shots in a theater? You're right: I should have thought about changing the ISO and the frame rate. Fortunately, I did have the main camcorder to fall back on to but it sure would have been nice to get a side perspective.... Thanks for taking the time to help.

depends on way too many factors, just try playing with it and see what setting doesn't make it look too dark

spot meter should also help in a theater so the settings don't jump around as much.
