I'm wondering what anyone who uses the cloud when parked thinks about it before I pull the trigger on an LTE module. The main thing I want is the notification if my car is hit when parked and the video to be uploaded to the cloud. TIA

To be honest if you have the standard U1000 i wouldn't bother! It wasn't the best system (It was Thinkwares first attempt at Cloud). If you have the Newer U1000PLUS then yes i would connect it to WiFi as it uses the newer 'Connected' system.

I have it set up but never use it .
if my car get's hit, chances are i won't be near enough to immediately do something about it .
And there's no use for cloud upload IMO, as you'll have the footage on the camera.
Also, it often gives false warnings, so it only creates stress

Thinkware U1000 supports Strong Impact Notification and Video Upload (Parked)

yes i know this, but as advised; i don't like getting false alerts, which even with low sensitivity are unavoidable.
and i see no need for sending the clips to the cloud

On 70mai i get impact notifications at random, and for sure by no reason CUZ i also have a CCTV camera on my parked car, and not even a fly is near it.
False notifications will just ruin the meaning of having 4G
