I wonder what’s up with all the various focus issues we’ve been seeing recently. It’s been affecting Viofo, VanTrue, Blackvue, Thinkware, and others.

This is pure speculation, but I feel like there's a real scramble to integrate a lot of this new Starvis 2 tech, and meet the high recording quality standards before the others. I wouldn't be surprised if this rush leads to cut corners and not fully making the most of things, like not including HDR or not including the new DOL HDR.

Hope I'm not stepping on any toes answering this, but this is an issue I'm rather familiar with. Switching your phone to airplane mode/disabling cellular connectivity is the best way to diagnose this, and fix it temporarily, though I understand a bit tedious to do every time.

I find this is most commonly the phone "turning down" the wifi source since it's not a true wifi connection. For Apple phones, going into your cellular settings, and turning off the "Wifi Assist" feature can permanently resolve this, and for Androids, disabling the "Smart Network Switch" setting will resolve this too.

Here's hoping that the Viofo app overhaul addresses it, though we'll have to wait and see.

Doesn't happen on Android though lol, in my experience with Vantrue and Viofo apps. At least I haven't seen any reports of it though. Pretty good resolution advice there though, will help many folks - - I just can't pass up the chance to give an Apple bashing haha

Personally I don’t think the dual interior cam setup is necessary.
