Power question

I just ordered an ITB-100HD and was wondering.. In my car, the accessory output (cig lighter) is OFF when starting. So this means that when I turn the key to start the car, it will go ON, OFF while starting and then back ON. Could this be a problem?

I don't plan on using parking mode. Even if I do, it would still exhibit this behavior when the timeout is reached...

Any input? Do the dash cams have protection for this?

1. Where did you order your camera and how much did it cost?
2. I think all ignition systems work as you describe and while it's not ideal to have the power go on, off, then back on again, that's what the camera (with the supplied power adapter) is designed for so you should be alright.
3. Parking mode will not work if your camera is not supplied power when parked.

2. Yes, dash cams have some delay to pass this short power off. So will no be any problem. And not all cars have this behavior. You can see when some people are turning on the key and their headlights are on and you will see them on also when starting the engine.
