pretty confused about what the OTG cable does

So I downloaded the app that lets you customize the settings on the go with an android device, works fine if i put the micro sd card into my galaxy tab.

but whats the point of the OTG cable? i thought it was to be able to set the settings with an android device without removing the memory card or camera from you installation but i cant find out what it does when i plug it in... does nothing, the app doesn't recognize it.

does it do something completely different than what I am assuming?

edit: oh well i found out OTG is not supported on my android tablet....

The OTG cable is simply a micro USB to female USB adapter. Your Android device needs to support mass storage to work with the Mobius.
