Came across this the other day, apologies if this isn't the first one that's been released, but this is the first time I've seen a rearview mirror dashcam with a Sony Starvis 2 sensor! Appears to be using a SigmaStar chipset, H.265 and rear camera module RC13 uses a SmartSens SC200AI 2MP sensor (potato quality).

Not listed on their official global website yet, but is on their AliExpress store here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006165836344.html?spm=a2g0o.store_pc_allProduct.8148356.18.77ee2108cRrZXa&pdp_npi=4@dis!AUD!AU $364.33!AU $233.17!!!235.05!150.43!@21038eda17019862368537776e8a49!12000036680312683!sh!AU!1860144965!

Experience of the product shared here: https://4pda-to.translate.goog/foru...=fi&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en-US&_x_tr_pto=wapp and some sample videos from the front and rear cameras here:

Looks like a decent product, and good to see them move to a super capacitor, and of course the Sony IMX675 sensor. Unlike some of the other major players on the market who are still stuck with solutions such as the IMX335 or GalaxyCore sensors *cough cough, Wolfbox*. For a mirror dashcam, also seems to be priced quite well, at almost half the price of something like the Wolfbox G900.

Potential dealbreakers include there being no GPS, despite there being Wifi on board (no dual-band Wifi), microUSB instead of USB-C. Interesting to see nonetheless!

Agreed, could do a bit better during the daytime and there appears to be some work to do during the night time.

Not sure how serious 70mai are about their firmware optimisations, I guess we'll see...

The A229 pro you're running has the IMX675 as the rear sensor...

Yeah I know, it's just that Starvis 2 hasn't been seen in a mirror dashcam form factor before..

Another review video here, have come across this guy's channel before has some decent samples to show:

Despite the shortcomings of the product (no USB-C, single band wifi and potato rear camera), it still is potentially worthwhile for some customers.

At that price point of $170 / $200 AUD too, it seems like not much more to pay than a similarly priced Viofo A119 Mini 2 or Viofo VS1 - should you want a rear view mirror dash cam form factor...I'm almost tempted myself..
