Hi
After nearly being wiped out last week (guy tried to overtake me on a roundabout, got 3/4 past then tried to drive through me from the wrong lane)
I really need to get a cam.
I've been looking at the VanTrue N4 pro as it was recommended (also on deal with amazon atm) but after looking into it some, I've seen bad things about it so I'm open to recommendations for a similar spec or cheaper but still good quality video with front and rear cams, not so bothered about in car camera tbh..
I will be hard wiring as my 12v socket is in the centre console and hard to get to.
Car is a 2015 mazda 3 if that makes any difference

Thanks

Welcome to the forum!

Depending on your budget, take a look at the following cameras:
Viofo A329S or A329T
Viofo A329
Vantrue S1 Pro Max
Vantrue N4 Pro S (rear cam is improved over the non S version)
70mai T800

They are all 4k in the front with the latest image sensor for the best plate capture.
The rear camera is sometimes 2k, 2.5k or 4k depending on the model.

Maybe something fits your requirements.
Some of them will also support cloud features that will give you a live view with from your phone and also notifications if something happens.

Is parking mode important to you?

That's interesting thanks, I'll be honest they're all out of my budget lol.
I can get the N4 pro without the s for £217 at the moment which is £100 cheaper than the the s, so does the rear camera Improve that much to be worth the extra?
Would going for a 2k cam be a big drop in picture quality?

Welcome to the forum Paul.

You should be able to find cheaper / last years models, which by no means are outdated and far from the minimum " any dashcam is better than no dashcam "

Of the mentioned brands only 70mai might be a problem in regard to older models as they use to use batteries for internal emergency power VS the preferred / more durable capacitors.
This do not mean a "old" 70mai camera die in one season, but it is a weak point, and not least if you live in one of the warmer or colder regions of the world.

Keywords for your search should be Sony starvis 2 sensor and capacitor / super capacitor. as a UK driver you can easy make do with 1440p resolution ( Sony starvis 2 IMX 675 )

Do not save on the memory card, buy local, get one plenty large, ATM i recommend 256 GB cards, though with the new dual 4K systems that is a bit on the low end, and of course it is a brand / model that is compatible with the system you like.
