Hey guys, got a Mini 0806 here and have been using it for a good while.

The other day I got rear-ended and just after I was hit, I remember hearing the camera's 'welcome chime' for some reason, but looked up and it still seemed to be operating, so I assumed that meant it had detected a high-G event and had locked the file or something.

When I went to review the card, a few minutes before the incident and about 30 seconds after, there was no recording.. The files were named correctly, however, the recording which would have contained the footage was only about 7 seconds long when my length is set to 3 minutes. The next file continues with the next number in the series, but doesn't start until about 30 seconds after the unit chimed.

I have 2 (genuine) SanDisk 64GB cards in there, and checked both for any sort of hidden files or anything, but found nothing. Registrator Viewer just shows a grey gap between where the one file stops and the other starts.

I did some testing by powering the camera on and slapping it around a little to see if i could get it to reset, but couldn't get it to occur. It kinda sucks because the footage appears to have been lost.. It looks like it was almost removed and copied to somewhere else, but I'm not sure how that even works on this camera.

Anyone else have this sort of issue?

As you can see, oddly enough the 611 and 612 files have the same 'modified' date, which makes me wonder if the camera tried to do some sort of 'repair' to the file if it suddenly rebooted.

the grey area in Regsitrator Viewer indicates that this is one journey and that you stopped and restarted, in other words the camera wasn't recording at that time

file 612 is only short so could be within the same minute as file 611 finished so have the same timestamp

Can't see an explanation for this...

Where are the files for 9:21 and 9:23? Your description suggests that the video exists but they aren't shown in your image...

How hard did you get hit and did the car switch off the power or fuel, or have a short circuit due to damage?

going by the file names there was no recording going on at those times
Maybe it is set to motion detect, otherwise a shutdown chime should have been heard 5 minutes before the accident. Doesn't explain why a startup chime was heard 30 seconds after though.

Or was it a shutdown chime because the power was cut?

The hit was fairly mild, only about 5MPH, so no damage or anything, but was a good jolt. Nothing in the car shut off, this is an older car. Even if the power shut off, I'd assume that the camera would stay running for it's 15 seconds that it normally stays on after the power is disconnected.
The file list is exactly as it was on the SD card. That's an ls from the SD card as removed from the camera. The times are last modified time, so the last time the file was written to. For whatever reason, it had just stopped recording for awhile both before and after the incident.

Immediately after the hit, (about 1-2 sec) is when I heard the startup chime. I have no motion detect set up, no parking guard, nothing but just pure dashcam mode, everything else is turned off.
The car was not turned off at all during those recordings, stayed running the entire time.
