Resolution in the App

Hi there. Just joined today although I've been following the forum for a few weeks trying to get acquainted with the pros and cons of the different models. I purchased the A129+ Duo, fitted it to my car and took it for a test run. All good, with playback using the DVPlayer softwear. They have been really helpful answering my initial questions.

I understand that the A129 Plus Duo cannot run 1600p front and 1440p rear and the owners manual clearly explains that the max resolution when using both cameras is 1440p front and 1080p rear.

However, when I access the camera settings through the Viofo App/Wi Fi it allows me to select 1600/1080 as the first option. Presumably that is for higher spec outfits like the A139?

No, the 1600 is a taller aspect ratio version of the 1440, you don’t get any extra resolution but you do record more clouds and dashboard!

Not really recommend since it is a bit of a waste of bitrate, but some people like it and it may be useful for an HGV.
