I'm guessing the small battery in my A119 v1 is need of replacement as it no longer appears to be keeping time correctly. I've also had it lose settings (not sure if related / settings on volatile memory)

Is there anyone who has attempted the job before who might have some helpful advice? Maybe where I can actually find a replacement cell too?

Thanks.

If only the Date/time setting resets to default when you power up, it is likely that the RTC battery is depleted. It is a rechargeable battery so you could try leaving the camera running for several hours and see if it takes the charge (probably indoors on a wall charger). If all menu settings you routinely set are defaulting when you power up, you may need to reload firmware.

I have no experience replacing the battery, but I've read that it is soldered in and some folks with soldering skills have successfully replaced the battery. As far a the type, there is probably a number on the battery. The only number I've seen comes from this post for an A119S: https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/huge-gaps-of-missing-video-weeks.34921/page-2#post-417108, kind of second hand info. I would double check that or maybe someone whose replaced it will give you the manufacturer and number.

Here is some additional information about the Date/Time clock. https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/viofo-a119s-battery-cut-off-options.35102/#post-423115. Sometimes unexpected consequences occur due to an inaccurate Date/Time clock.
