S1 Pro Max Best Settings?

I'm having the same version as you do. The video was filmed with an older version of the front camera, which I now updated.
But the menus should be still the same.

The menu in Video Settings - G-Sensor settings should apply to recording while driving only.
The sensitivity of the Parking Mode is set in Video Settings - Parking Mode when Collision detection is selected.
I believe this is the one of all modes, which consumes least energy from battery.
In addition, there is an additional setting below Parking Mode, in German Video Einstellungen - Parkraumüberwachungseinstellungen (no clue what it might be in English) to set collision detection sensitivity to a quick start or a power saving mode. The cam will take longer to start up in latter, however.

What puzzles me is the rear camera version, which is EEE071 for me as well, but the Vantrue website lists a version RC09_VT-EEE281 as initial version for the rear camera. https://www.vantrue.com/de/pages/s1promax-manual-firmware If this could be clarified?
Yes, collision detection in parking mode is also handled by the G-sensor. To help reduce power consumption when your car is off, we recommend enabling Quick Start Collision Detection.
As for firmware, the latest version for the S1 Pro Max is S1PM_VT-EEI121. Your unit is already on the latest version. You can download the latest rear camera firmware through this link https://www.vantrue.com/pages/s1promax-manual-firmware

@Jeff_Vantrue
Why isn't the rear camera automatically updated via the Vantrue app? Will the update be added to the app? So you drag the update file onto the SD card and then the dashcam installs it automatically.
So if the G-sensor is turned off, collision detection in parking mode doesn't work?

Actually, the rear camera can also be updated via the Vantrue app — you can find the option in the “About” section of the app.
Also, please note that the G-sensor settings for normal recording and parking mode are separate. When you open Collision Detection in the menu, you’ll see options from 1 to 5, but there’s no “off” option, meaning collision detection in parking mode always remains active at some sensitivity level.

There are / there should be 2 G-sensors.

Not physically of course, but there should be sensitivity setting for when driving, and then sensitivity for when parked, some do use one setting for both areas but i personally feel that is a flawed approach.
I do not like to have G-sensor on when driving even if in modern systems it is possible to tune it so you do NOT get false event recordings from little bumps in the road.
This have always been important to me generating as little false events as possible.

I think this is actually the case.
G-Sensor sensitivity is set separately for driving and parking.
The one for driving is set using menu: "Video Settings - G-Sensor"
while the one for parking is set inside the "Video Settings - Parking Mode" when selecting collision mode.

Please correct me when I'm wrong.

Thats true, i do not use G-sensor when driving, but i would like G-sensors to be so sensitive during parking that just someone " trying " the door handle to see if car is open trigger a recording.
My personal preferred mode is low bitrate and on a 3 hour timer CUZ i do not need parking guard all the time, also prefer to have G-sensor on to act like a flag for any actual events there might have been.

So
turn off the setting under "Video Settings - G-Sensor" and
put the Setting in "Video Settings - Parking Mode - Collision Mode" to the max
and you have it.

I have, but also seen irregular events, where there is nothing to see on my CCTV camera but then the dashcam have triggered.
I sort of look at those like the cameras will also some times take a picture for no reason even if the radio is not on and i am not moaning about the other drivers or just talking to myself.

I have actually not done my usual kick the tires test, but i am quite sure the S1PM will sense that just fine.

With sensitivity set to the max, it is likely that a blow of wind against the car may trigger an event.

The S1 Pro Max has received a major update for the front and rear cameras.
