Station mode firmware

Support sent me the V2.4 build 20210709 FW that they say supports station mode, but no matter what I do, the camera doesn't go into station mode with that firmware installed. I also don't have any setting in the camera or in the app to set my network information to even use station mode. I'm long pressing wifi and mic buttons, and nothing happens, tried every other combination and it wont go into station mode. Anyone here actually got this to work?

I have the camera on my desk and I have a USB cable plugged in the USB port for power (it is a power only cable, no data).
 
I have A129 Pro Duo and have never seen "station mode". But I am on 2.10T firmware. May be I didn't pay much attention going through menus.

So, what the heck is "station mode"?

Support sent me the Firmware when I asked about it in another thread. Station Mode allows the camera to connect to your wifi router, and then use a web interface to download the videos off the device. The Idea is that I want to be able to turn on station mode when I get home and use a script that will move any new files to my NAS. The issue is that the firmware they sent doesn't seem to be working and I was hoping someone here could help since the timezone difference between Viofo and I means waiting an entire day for a response to my messages.

But that 2.4 firmware is very old. Is there "station mode" in the few of the latest firmware versions?

I will go to my car and check my firmware.

Sorry, the firmware they sent me was a customized version. The newest firmware, for whatever reason, doesn't have station mode for the A129Pro / ProDuo models, though the other A129 models DO have it.
 
Please check the PM, we shared a video about how to use the station mode.

I got the firmware installed and camera connected to my network. When I am at my computer tomorrow, I will make a post.

Well, since he got it connected to his network (not other way around), it seems to be working.

It would be interesting to try it out.

@VIOFO-Support - the unpublished A129 Pro FW, does this improve any image values, or was it merely for WiFi station mode? Any plans to publish the FW?
 
Why is firmware such a secretive mess with Viofo?

I would like station mode as well but have to read about it here and not on official Viofo webpage. Same with firmware, half the time getting from members on vs official Viofo webpage.

Because VIOFO selectively ignores some requests here on DCT; notice there has been no answer to my post #12. I like VIOFO but sometimes they just will not answer some questions. You could PM the OP and ask him to send you the FW or PM VIOFO-Support here and ask them to give you a link to the FW. Might be able to get help from their support site, I would reference this thread here.
