my cam is now looping on FW 1026 with a scandisk class4 16gb card, i dont think my cam like 32gb cards, i can now fix it in place now on the window screen

That's good... success is always preferable to failure..lol

What was the 32gb card and speed class you were trying?

samsung 32gb class 6

Do you have the audio record disabled?

32gb card class 6, 1 min loops audio on = storage io error / low speed card
32gb card class 6, 1 min loops audio off = perfect, camera works normal

16gb class 4, 1 min loops audio on = perfect camera works normal

i know people will say dont use audio for the 32gb card but i want audio on,

thats strange thats what i got when i had my memory card problem, storage io error low card speed error
its the supplied 32gb card, class 10. I will wait and see if it fails when full, I thought I protected all the files somehow.

ive got a feeling its down to the camera not liking 32gb cards when full. but on the other hand other people have had no probs using 32gb cards in theres, it cant be the card because i have another dashcam (not 0801) and my 32gb cards work fine in them. let us know how you get on with yours peter

It is very strange indeed, one would have thought with 1026 firmware which has a lower recording bitrate it may have solved issue's like your getting.
There's obviously a big difference in the hardware in some of these camera's, as I've never had any of these issues on 3x 0801 camera's, I can use 32gb class 6, class 4 and even class 10 cards with audio on, no issues at all, even with the original 0913 firmware which has a high 17000+ recording bitrate.

One can only assume they are from different factories, because something is obviously different with the cameras file system as far as writing speed capability is concerned. You stating that 16gb cards works better than 32gb also supports speed problems, as when comparing same make/spec cards but one is 16gb and the other is 32gb in size , it's well known that the 16gb will usually be the faster of the two, I've noticed that myself, and probably a 4 or 8gb would beat the 16gb, it's the way they are, but the speed differences are so small it doesn't normally matter, unless things are marginal as appears to be in your case.

I honestly don't know what to suggest, other than to get it exchanged, as it fails to work as intended. Users should not have so much hassle trying to get their camera's to work as they should. They obviously sell a lot of these camera's, and I assume the small number that don't work end up seeking advice etc. on forums like this, and of course we have to bear in mind that although the main mini 0801 thread is close to 100 pages long..lol in reality those 100 pages are made up of posts from perhaps the same couple dozen users. ;-)

Only other option would be to use the older Firmware's, that supported .TS video files instead of .MOV files, as apparently the earlier cameras with .TS output files was very stable without any issues at all...AFAIK.
As you stated.. it's likely not the cards at all, though that does not mean we shouldn't try other cards of course. I can throw any card at my Mio 368 camera and it just works, never had a single hiccup, having said that my last 2 0801 cams have been okay. I had a few connection issues and a bad 'up' switch on the first camera which I had to fix, but no screen errors.

Just doesn't make sense, other than they are manufactured by different companies, I don't see any other rational explanation.

Was your camera purchased from E-Prance ?

mine was from amazon direct eprance store. but i haven't filled the card again yet. not been out much I have had a small problem of the camera not activating properly but there's a post about that somewhere.

Ironically after making that last post above, I decided to remove the card that was in the camera I use as home security, just to check if the post van had been while I was out earlier..lol and I put in a Transend 32gb class 10 card and powered it back on, and surprisingly I got my first ever slow card message on the screen, and it failed to go into record mode. This camera is on 0913 firmware which has been working fine for ages. Anyway, I put another 32gb class 6 card in (I have loads of them) this one was branded TDK, and it worked fine.. weird that, as I've used that Transend card before, but it was the only card I've bought that returned a write error when I used it for the first time couple months ago, tests at the time with H2testw.exe showed it had 1 corrupted sector, which I mapped out with a full format and it worked for the next couple of days, though I have since been using mainly Samsung cards, so seems a bit strange it's that same card which prompted this error this afternoon. This the first camera out of the 3 to show this error.

I've now put 1026 firmware on this security camera permanently now, as a slight drop in bitrate for what its used for is not a problem, and does mean I get 5 or 6 hours recording on a 32gb card. I have been thinking of trying the 720p mode on this particular camera as it may double the recording time to cover a more useful period of recording time, like over night, we have a couple of outside IR security lights which come on, so the camera does pick up reasonably well at night as long as those lights come on.
I also considered buying a proper dedicated security camera system for the home which uses a 1tb or more hard-drive which would obviously do the job much better, and quite reasonable around the £275/£300 mark, it's just the trouble of wiring it all in that's put me off..lol, you can get WiFi versions, but doubt they work as well as the hard-wired variety.

I've not been using the motion detect mode on this camera I use just to keep an eye on my car and anyone entering our driveway, as techmoans review made it appear it wasn't very good and probably not worthwhile using, but when used as a home camera say covering the front of house and driveway it does seem to work

So basically enabling the motion detect does mean I no longer have that issue where I can only record 5 hrs or so, it certainly worked when the neighbours cat came into our drive this morning..lol it missed the exact point where he immediately came round the corner, but he was captured from about 3 or 4 feet of being in the drive, which is good enough for me. I don't know why I didn't try the motion detect before as that's what it's for..lol I suppose I thought it was a waste of time, and although it may not be so good when used inside a car as it does take a fraction of time to start recording, so you might miss a few frames, but where it's watching say the front of a home where there's some distance involved it seems to work.

I have a Mio 368WDR camera which cost me £163 so much more pricy, but that one in motion mode always has the previous 5 seconds when a recording starts, as it constantly records 5secs of video into a a special cache, so when it starts to record to the card it puts the previous 5 seconds to the front of the recording, which is very clever. However it has one big failing, you cannot use motion detect while it's powered, it only goes into motion detect mode when the external power is removed, meaning it only has about 1hr-10mins use before the battery runs out. Probably okay for a visit to a supermarket, but no good at all for anything else.. Its totally Stupid the way they have done it. I emailed them about it, but doubt they will bring a firmware out to remedy it, as it ruins a otherwise superb motion detect mode. As a dashcam it's ultra reliable (unlike some of the 0801 cams) as you would expect from a large company like Mio, who as you know are famous for their Satnavs, image quality is impressive too thanks to the 6x glass lens they use, just a shame motion detect only works on battery. :-(

Well Now I have filled the card during my travels today and after i stopped driving and started to move again I noticed it turned off about 1 min after starting to drive.

I turned it on by unplugging it from the lighter socket and plugging it back in same thing. So I stopped and watched it. It turns on and looks like its started recording then after about 30-40 seconds it says Low Speed Error, then a few seconds later it says IO Error then stops recording. then after the allotted minute has elapsed it shuts down.

So I unplugged the Cigarette lighter and plugged it back in and then pressed the up button. This action mutes the mic. It recorded fine no errors all the way home. so I turned the mic on again before switching off the ignition. and next time i started the car it did the same error again. so off and on then mute. and it recorded fine. strange thing is I turned the mute on again after a while and it recorded fine for at least 10 mins. it wasn't until i turned the car off then on again it failed to record.

thats what mine does, i left mine 24 hours on record and it was looping ok soon a turned it off and back on again thats when i got the errors (same as you) 16gb card has fixed this. its strange though they need to find a fix for this , turning audio off is just bypassing the problem really
