Hello,

my car is a Mini cooper.

I am not sure if the mechanic installed the dash is too high as you will see the front cam cannot provide the full (left side) coverage. I tried to adjust the angle but I only be able to twist lower at once only, then it will completly show the front of the hood. if I set the angle the lowest (the front hood is shown), the alert of lane change / traffic light ahead is more sensiive.

Additionally, it is hard to record the car plate both for the front and rear particularly at night due to the light reflection. I was advised to buy Cpl filter but wonder the light reflection is caused by the cam's current position ~ too high.

the merchanic refuses to help, so I want to find out if these problems can be fixed instead of returning it to the store. thanks in advance

annie

I would move the camera such that it is in the middle of the windshield. The lens needs to be aimed lower. You know you have the proper aim when you can see the hood of your car.

The reflections might correct itself once the camera is aimed correctly.

I had lots of glare and reflections with the front cam until I got a polarizing filter, that fixed the issue. My rear glass has dark tint so no problems there.

If you're worried about glare, Thinkware does sell a CPL filter that helps reduce reflections.

How can I get my hands on Thinkware CPL filters compatible with my F800 Pro dual channel system? I can’t seem to find any evidence of CPL filters for sale on the Thinkware web site.

Dashcambros has a filter for the F800/F800 Pro. It is not an official Thinkware brand filter but it works great.

Here's the link: https://dashcambros.com/products/thinkware-f800-f800-pro-front-slip-on-polarizing-filter

Thanks for that, catchthecarp, appreciated.
However, I’m in the UK; it seems to be a US website. Don’t mind of course, except I’m not keen on being forced to pay extra import taxes for items from the US.
Believe me, they do this now! [emoji37][emoji20]
